After the Helsingborg Open last week, the Ladies European Tour (LET) continues its double-header in Sweden and heads north to the Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed.
The stunning Ullna Golf Club is the venue of this year’s edition of the innovative tournament which sees 78 men and 78 women playing for the same prize fund with one trophy.
Last year Sweden’s Linn Grant made history as she stormed to an incredible nine-shot victory at Halmstad Golf Club becoming the first female winner on the DP World Tour.
It was one sensational part of an excellent first year on Tour for the 23-year-old, who also secured the 2022 Race to Costa del Sol, Rookie of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year titles at the end of the season.
And Grant is back in her home country ready to defend her crown having already notched up a victory on the LET this year winning the Jabra Ladies Open a few weeks ago.
Grant will be joined by a host of compatriots who will also be teeing it up this week including golfing legend Annika Sörenstam, Solheim Cup stars Madelene Sagstrom and Caroline Hedwall, as well as winner of the 2023 Helsingborg Open Lisa Pettersson.
England’s Lily May Humphreys and Germany’s Patricia Isabel Schmidt, who have both won their maiden LET titles this season, will be hoping for more success.
Denmark’s Smilla Tarning Soenderby and Thailand’s April Anguarasaranee are both in good form coming into this week having secured their place in the 2023 Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed through top-10 finishes in Helsingborg.
While Angurasaranee has had previous good results in mixed formats as she finished as top female in the 2022 Trust Golf Asian Mixed Cup.
In the 2023 Race to Costa del Sol, six of the top 10 in the rankings will be vying to improve their position including Spain’s Ana Peláez Trivino, who sits second, and Czechia’s Klara Davidson Spilkova, who sits fourth.
On the men’s side, home favourite Alex Noren headlines the field along with fellow Swedes Simon Forsström, Sebastian Soderberg, Alexander Bjork, Marcus Kinhult, Jonas Blixt, Kristoffer Broberg and Mikael Lindberg. The full entry list can be found here.
