With the summer swing now in full flow on the Ladies European Tour (LET) we head to Spain for the first time this season and the La Sella Open.
A brand new event for 2023, La Sella Golf Resort & Spa just outside Alicante will play host to the four-day tournament as 126 players vie towards their share of the one million euro purse.
After the first two rounds of action there will be a cut to the top 60 professionals and ties with the winner being crowned on Sunday July 23.
There will be no fewer than 15 Spanish players hoping to find glory at home this week including recent winner Carmen Alonso – who was victorious at the Ladies Open by Pickala Rock Resort – and current Race to Costa del Sol number one Ana Pelaez Trivino.
The duo are then joined by four compatriot amateurs looking to make their mark, including rising star Cayetana Fernandez who already has two top-5 LET finishes to her name.
Alongside the before-mentioned Alonso, a strong of recent LET winners will also be hoping to add more silverware to their collection with India’s Diksha Dagar, Sweden’s Lisa Pettersson, Germany’s Patricia Isabel Schmidt, and Czechia’s Kristyna Napoleaova all in the field.
With the 2023 Race to Costa del Sol heating up, seven of the top 10 in the season long race will be vying to top up their tally. Joining Pelaez, Alonso and Dagar in this quest are Czechia’s Klara Davidson Spilkova, Sweden’s Johanna Gustvasson, England’s Lily May Humphreys, and France’s Celine Herbin.
Elsewhere, Thailand’s Trichat Cheenglab will be looking to extend her lead in the Rookie of the Year race following a stellar final day at the Aramco Team Series Presented by PIF – London.
