This week, the Ladies European Tour (LET) continues its European swing with a week in Spain for the La Sella Open.
The €1 million event was added to the schedule in 2023 and returns for its third edition from 18-21 September at La Sella Golf Resort in Denia, Alicante.
A field of 132 players representing 35 nationalities will tee it up in a 72-hole stroke play competition, and there will be a cut at the 36-hole mark to the top 60 professionals and ties.
Defending champion Helen Briem returns to La Sella after securing her maiden LET title with a two-stroke victory here in 2024.
The 20-year-old has had a solid season thus far with five top-5 finishes on Tour this season and sits seventh in the LET Order of Merit.
Spain’s Nuria Iturrioz won the first edition of the tournament in 2023 and will be teeing it up in her homeland this week, just a couple of weeks after clinching her fifth LET title at the Aramco Houston Championship.
Iturrioz is one of 13 Spanish players in the field this week, which also sees LET winners Maria Hernandez, Ana Peláez Triviño, and Marta Martin competing on home soil.
Seven players secured sponsor invitations for the 2025 La Sella Open including Spanish amateur Carolina Lopez Chacarra.
Moreover, three players from the LET Access Series (LETAS) will also be teeing it up with Mexico’s Fernanda Lira, England’s Jessica Hall and Singapore’s Aloysa Atienza securing their spots at the Islantilla Open.
Mexico’s Lira won that event back in July and has now secured three victories on LETAS this season with titles at the Islantilla Open, Q-Tour Himmerland Championship Presented by Sand Spedition and last week’s Hauts de France Pas de Calais Golf Open.
Nine winners from the 2025 LET season will be hoping to add another title including England’s Alice Hewson, who successfully defended her title in Switzerland last week.
England’s Mimi Rhodes, who leads both the LET Order of Merit and Rookie of the Year competitions, is also in attendance and hoping to extend her advantage at the top of the rankings.
