After an enjoyable fortnight in South Africa the Ladies European Tour (LET) is in Seoul this week for the second Aramco Team Series presented by PIF event of 2024.
Heading to South Korea’s capital for the very first time, 108 players from 36 nations will tee up at New Korea Country Club between 10-12 May vying for their share of $1,000,000 in both the team and individual competitions.
The team competition is 36 holes with the best two scores on each hole counting towards the team score. The individual competition is a 54-hole stroke play with a cut to the top-60 professionals and ties after 36 holes.
As with previous Aramco Team Series events, the draft will kick off proceedings with 36 captains afforded one pick based on their position in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings. The duo will then be joined by one randomly selected player not already picked as well as one amateur.
The tournament marks the ninth event of the 2024 LET season and the final one before the circuit heads back to Europe for the crux of its schedule beginning with the Amundi German Masters.
England’s Charley Hull leads the field having recently climbed one place in the Rolex Rankings to match her career best World No 7.
The three-time LET winner is joined by Solheim Cup rival Danielle Kang as well as South Korean superstar Hyo-Joo Kim.
Elsewhere, winners are aplenty with 34 LET champions in the field. This includes five winners from 2024, with Singapore’s Shannon Tan, England’s Bronte Law, Colombia’s Mariajo Uribe, Switzerland’s Chiara Tamburlini, and Belgium’s Manon De Roey all teeing up.
Pauline Roussin-Bouchard comes in as the defending champion following her heroics at last year’s Singapore edition. There, the French star fired a final round 64 (-8) to outclass Kang and Lydia Ko to hoist the ATS trophy.
Team Wolf were the Team winners in the event last time out with all three professionals – Christine Wolf, Ellie Givens, and Casandra Alexander all back chasing silverware again. The full field can be found here.
The LET has previously staged three events in Korea, hosting tournaments on Jeju Island in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
The second Aramco Team Series presented by PIF event of 2024 marks the Tour’s first time in Seoul, however, with the New Korea Golf Club in Gyeonggi-do offering a hilly, tree-lined challenge this week.
