It’s another week on the road for the Ladies European Tour (LET) as the Tour takes a short trip to Ireland.
After two weeks in Scotland for the ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open and the AIG Women’s Open, next up is the KPMG Women’s Irish Open.
The tournament returned to the LET calendar in 2022 after a nine-year hiatus and this year has changed venue with the O’Meara Course at Carton House, A Fairmont Managed Hotel hosting.
A field of 132 players will be teeing it up in a 72-hole stroke play competition with a cut to the top 60 professionals and ties at the end of the second round.
Former champion Klara Davidson Spilkova of Czechia returns to the tournament where she won her second LET title in 2022.
Ireland’s own Leona Maguire leads the home charge this week and with a trophy in tow having triumphed in the Individual event at the Aramco Team Series Presented by PIF – London at the start of July.
Maguire is one of 11 Irish players teeing it up this week alongside LET rookie Lauren Walsh in her homeland.
They are also joined by Northern Irish professionals Olivia Mehaffey and Annabel Wilson, as well as eight Irish amateurs who are getting the opportunity to play.
On Monday the European Solheim Cup Team for 2024 was confirmed with Maguire making her third appearance in the contest.
Meanwhile, European teammate Georgia Hall – who was one of Suzann Pettersen’s captain’s picks – will also be playing at Carton House.
The KPMG Women’s Irish Open takes place from Thursday 29 August until Sunday 1st September at Carton House.
