After the resumption of the 2023 Ladies European Tour (LET) season last week, the Tour takes a trip across the pond for the eighth event of the season.
The Aramco Team Series presented by Public Investment Fund – Florida is next up on the schedule with the tournament being hosted at Trump International at West Palm Beach.
It is the second of the five Team events across 2023 and this week will see a field of 108 professionals from 25 nations tee it up in the Sunshine State.
The format is the same as in 2022 with two competitions happening side by side – the 54-hole Individual stroke play alongside the 36-hole Team event.
As before, each Team will consist of three professionals and one amateur with the Team captains decided on Monday 8th May based upon the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings.
At the Draft, which will happen on Wednesday evening, the Team captains will pick in reverse order with the 36th-ranked captain picking first and the top-ranked captain picking last, while the third professional and amateur in each team are decided by random draw.
A host of names are in town with defending champion Lexi Thompson ready to try and retain her title, but she will face a battle from world number three Lydia Ko and six-time LPGA Tour winner Jessica Korda.
2023 Race to Costa del Sol leader Aditi Ashok will tee it up on the LET for the first time since her second-place finish at the Aramco Saudi Ladies International after back-to-back top-five finishes on the LPGA Tour.
Sweden’s Linn Grant, the 2022 Race to Costa del Sol winner, is in action and looking to continue her momentum after she secured her fifth LET victory at last week’s Jabra Ladies Open.
Another Swede who will be looking to pick up where she left off last week is Johanna Gustavsson, who was the winning Team captain at this event in 2022 and will be looking to improve on her T4 finish in France.
It was Pauline Roussin who came out on top in the Individual competition at the Aramco Team Series – Singapore and the Frenchwoman will be hoping for another victory in the unique format.
American Jennifer Rosenberg is an invite to the tournament this week but is familiar with the format having been the winning amateur in Team Gustavsson last October before she turned professional.
While France’s Celine Herbin and England’s Hayley Davis both had good finishes at last week’s Jabra Ladies Open to secure their spot in this week’s tournament.
