(Macclesfield, Cheshire July 29 2004) The Robe di Kappa Ladies European Tour announced today the addition to their 2004 schedule of the Catalonian Ladies Masters, which will take place from October 1-3 at Sant Cugat GC in Barcelona, Spain, the home club of Solheim Cup star Paula Marti.
The event will be open to the top 25 players on the Robe di Kappa Ladies European Tour order of merit along with eight invitations, making a field of 33 players who will compete for the €180,000 prize fund.
“We are delighted to announce this event at such as late stage in the season,” said Ian Randell, chief executive of the Robe di Kappa Ladies European Tour.
“This will be a wonderful finale to a successful season on an ever strengthening Ladies European Tour. We will have the top players in European golf playing at one of the most scenic courses in Catalonia and it is sure to be an outstanding week.”

Last season, we began the event with eight players and the success it had meant we could only go forwards and this year we have opened it to 33 of the top players on the Ladies European Tour.
“Sant Cugat is a traditional golf course which is almost 100 years old and being only 15 minutes from the centre of Barcelona, this offers the players, their guests and officials the opportunity not only to enjoy golf but also enjoy this beautiful Mediterranean city.”
