LAW EXPECTING GOOD TEST AT AUSTRALIAN WOMEN’S CLASSIC

Bronte Law

Bronte Law is in a rich vein of form having not finished outside the top three in her last three starts on the Ladies European Tour (LET).

The Englishwoman has a 383.33-point lead at the top of the LET Order of Merit thanks to her great start to the season.

Law secured her third LET title in February at the Lalla Meryem Cup, she followed that up with third place in the Individual event at the Aramco Team Series Presented by PIF – Tampa.

Last week, the 29-year-old finished as runner-up just losing out to Colombia’s Mariajo Uribe at Magenta Shores.

However, Law was pleased with her week’s work and the fact she was able to use her final day mentality of going for it once again.

“I did what I said I was going to do, I went out there and tried to post a number,” she said. “I was really happy with how I played. I had a couple of bogeys that I got pretty unlucky with and didn’t really do much wrong.

“My tempo was a little out for three holes, I dropped two shots but then I pushed on again and was really trying to make some birdies on the way in. I made one, I was pretty close to a couple of others.

“It’s easy to be disappointed to not get it done, but I was four shots back going into the start of the day. Mariajo played some solid golf on that back nine and it makes it difficult to catch someone in that situation.

“Last three results I haven’t finished outside the top three, my game is in a really good spot. I’m looking forward to next week and hopefully, I can do one better there.”

Law has been putting in lots of hard work to her game over the past six months and she believes it is finally coming to fruition.

But one of the main components has been her mental game, which she spoke about on the LET Golf Podcast.

She explained: “I always work on stuff each week and really try and analyse what went on. I think all the hard work is paying off, there’s so many elements to it. The mental side, the people I have around me, I have a really good group of people who are super supportive.

“I feel very lucky to have them in my corner. Tying all those pieces together and me going out and doing what I need to do, it’s showing now where my game has felt like it’s been for a while, but I just haven’t been getting results. I have been working really hard on the mental side of the game and that’s been the key factor really.”

This week the LET has its second week in Australia with the Australian Women’s Classic – Presented by Pacific Bay Resort Studios.

Law will be teeing it up in the first round from the ninth alongside last week’s winner Uribe and home favourite Kirsten Rudgeley.

It is the first time the Englishwoman has been to Bonville and she knows it will be a very different course to last week.

She added: “It’s very different from last week. It’s very green, but it seems to be a good course. I’ve only played once so far. It was quite wet out there. I imagine it’ll be quite wet for the duration of the week.

“There are some serious undulations out there, lots of slope changes, so having to navigate that, lots of different lies. It’s definitely quite a change from last week. I have had to work on a few things just to kind of get the mind thinking of shots in a little different way. It’ll be a good test.

“It definitely will require different shots, just even around the greens. Having a good short game round here will definitely be a huge benefit. Visualizing the shots, hitting very different shots out here than the ones last week.”
