Sara Kouskova is excited to make her sixth appearance at the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open which is being held at Royal Beroun Golf Club.
The Czech star has competed in every edition of the tournament since it came onto the Ladies European Tour (LET) schedule in 2019.
Kouskova has a stellar record in her home tournament finishing in the top 25 in her last four appearances.
While the University of Texas graduate has also had a consistent season thus far with one top-10 and two top-20 finishes to sit 35th in the LET Order of Merit.
“It’s been a really solid start of the season,” she said. “Then we had a little period where we were thinking too much, but now I think we’ve done a lot of good stuff even in practice.
“I had my coach and my strength coach in Scandi Mixed which was really beneficial to what we have been working on in the past few weeks. I am looking forward to some more top-10s and good results.
“My family is coming; my brother might caddie for someone at the tournament. Lots of friends of my family will come too and I know some people will be watching on TV.”
With such a good track record in Beroun, Kouskova believes that having patience and sticking it close will be the key factors this week.
She continued: “This year with the greens, it will be a lot about patience and accepting a lot of things that will happen, but also sticking it in close.
“As soon as we get closer to the hole, I think it will be easier. Just hit it well, I was on the range yesterday and have been quite happy with how the long game looks now.
“That’s really good and if I manage to hit all the greens, I wouldn’t have to chip on them because that seemed to be a little tricky. That will be the key.”
Four-time LET Access Series winner Kouskova also knows it is a big week with the Olympic qualification deadline on June 24.
The 24-year-old is currently in the second Olympic spot for Czechia but admits she has tried not to think about Paris too much.
“I look forward to this week so much,” she explained. “Since it’s the last week before Olympic qualifying too, it’s a big week and having it at home is super special. It’s been busy too.
“I’m happy now that all my media work is behind me, and I hope that lots of people are going to come thanks to all the work we’ve done promoting the tournament. I’m looking forward to it.
“It’s been tough. Recently, it had been on my mind a little more, so we sat down with the team and said we don’t want to think about the Olympics too much now.
“The past few tournaments we’ve been good about it, we have actually managed to free the mind. This week was super Olympic heavy, lots of talking about it and lots of questions but I hope I can just go out there and play.”
Kouskova will tee off in the first round at 12.52 pm (local time) on June 21 alongside South Africa’s Lee-Anne Pace and England’s Eleanor Givens.
