Sara Kouskova recorded back-to-back top-10 finishes during the Australian swing on the Ladies European Tour (LET).
The Czech star has played consistently thus far in 2025 having made the cut in every event of the season.
Kouskova then finished in a share of sixth place at the Australian Women’s Classic and followed that up with a solo fourth at the Ford Women’s NSW Open.
The 25-year-old was co-leading in Wollongong alongside England’s Mimi Rhodes at the 36-hole mark, and Kouskova believes she is getting more comfortable being in contention on the LET.
“Both events were filled with good golf, lots of really good shots,” she said. “I was still struggling a little bit with the putter, especially at Coffs Harbour. I had a little problem matching the tempo. It was a little off, but as the tournament progressed, I got better each day.
“The second event, it was more about confidence in my putting. I don’t think I fully trusted my stroke at times. We read the putts well and I was way more comfortable on the greens at Wollongong.
“My ball striking was on top. I had a hole-out during round one and had lots of eagle opportunities. I played really solidly. Being in contention over the weekend, it was another great experience. I’m getting better each time I get there.
“It’s probably just a matter of time that I will feel comfortable even more, because I think I was a little nervous on Saturday. The mind was ready, the body not really. I got a little tense over the putts. That’s probably the biggest thing. I need to play a little more freely.
“I don’t think playing good golf necessarily does much to my confidence, but it’s great to see the gradual improvements. I am starting to feel more comfortable when in contention and that’s what is helping me to play better. Being comfortable amongst top players helps me believe that I belong there.”
Following her back-to-back top-10s, the Olympian has climbed into the top 10 of the 2025 LET Order of Merit and now sits eighth.
Despite having highlights from on the golf course, Kouskova also has plenty from off the golf course from this year’s trip Down Under.
She added: “The best thing was reuniting with the people we met last year. It was two host families and one Czech family that we met in 2024. We were able to stay with them again and they took us on a boat trip through Sydney which was absolutely incredible. We saw the opera house from the water which was mesmerising.
“Then we saw kangaroos on the balcony during the first event. That was special. Then the turtles at the wildlife sanctuary – that was such a great experience. There were so many good memories and I loved the trip.”
