KEY FACTS: 2026 FORD WOMEN’S NSW OPEN

This week the Ladies European Tour (LET) is in sunny Australia for the first of four co-sanctioned events with the WPGA Tour of Australasia.

The Ford Women’s NSW Open kicks things off on Thursday at Wollongong Golf Club just south of Sydney. Sitting picturesque along the east coast of Australia, the par-71 links is on hosting duties for the second year in a row and features fantastic beach views.

This year’s 72-hole tournament takes place between February 26-March 1 and offers a purse of AU$600,000.

A field of 132 players will tee up in the second event of the LET’s 2026 global schedule – a number divided into 80 LET players, 30 WPGA players and 22 invites. This figure also features 34 nationalities, 28 Australians, 15 rookies and 19 LET winners.

English star Mimi Rhodes was victorious last time out as she broke the course record 62 (-9) en route to a two-shot victory. Unfortunately, the Solheim Cup hopeful is not back to defend her crown in Wollongong as she competes on the LPGA, but last year’s runners-up Alessandra Fanali from Italy and Kirsten Rudgeley from Australia are both in town.

Elsewhere, several winners from last season will be teeing up in New South Wales hoping to kickstart their 2026 campaign. This includes Canada’s Anna Huang, the highest ranked player in the field, Czech Republic’s Sara Kouskova, Wales’ Darcey Harry, plus English duo Cara Gainer and Alice Hewson.

Another Englishwoman, Meghan MacLaren, tees up having won the event in 2018 and 2019. The 31-year-old is one of two past champions in the field with New Zealand’s Momoka Kobori a winner in 2022 when it was a WPGA Tour event.

The 17th edition of the Ford Women’s NSW Open also marks the first event of the season for an abundance of this year’s rookies and Q-School graduates. Taking to the fairways in Australia for their first start of the season include Ireland’s Aine Donegan, South Africa’s Caitlyn Macnab and USA’s Anna Morgan – the latter making her LET debut.

The full breakdown of entrants can be found here.

Fans around the world will be able to watch the final two rounds of the Ford Women’s NSW Open via their national broadcaster on the LET website and YouTube channel. Coverage takes place on Saturday 28 February and Sunday 1 March and between 12:00 – 17:00 local time (01:00 – 06:00 GMT). Full broadcast details to follow.

Following the conclusion of the tournament, the LET and WPGA of Australasia head north to Magenta Shores Golf & Country Club for the Australian Women’s Classic. This is followed by the Women’s Australian Open in Adelaide and Australian WPGA Championship on the Gold Coast.
