JOBURG LADIES OPEN KICKS OFF SOUTH AFRICAN SWING ON LET

Following a short break the Ladies European Tour (LET) is in South Africa this week for the 2026 Joburg Ladies Open.

The tournament marks the seventh stop on this year’s global schedule and first of two events in the Rainbow Nation co-sanctioned with the Sunshine Ladies Tour (SLT).

Randpark Golf Club is on hosting duties for the first time after a four-year stretch at Modderfontein Golf Club. The tree-lined, par-73 Firethorn course is steeped in history having held several Joburg Opens on the DP World Tour.

This year’s Joburg Ladies Open is the 12th edition and fifth time appearing on the LET schedule. Past champions include England’s Mimi Rhodes (2025), Switzerland’s Chiara Tamburlini (2024) and Sweden’s Linn Grant (2022) – all three players have since joined the LPGA and are vying for a spot at this year’s Solheim Cup.

The 72-hole tournament gets underway on Thursday 16 April with the winner crowned on Sunday 19 April. A purse of €330,000 is on offer at Randpark Golf Club.

A field of 120 players will be teeing up in South Africa led by 2021 winner Casandra Alexander. The Joburg local finished runner-up at last year’s edition and currently leads the LET Order of Merit. Alexander won last year’s Sunshine Ladies Tour Order of Merit and has now climbed inside the top-50 of the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings. The 26-year-old has one victory on the LET which came at last year’s Tipsport Czech Ladies Open.

Alexander, the highest ranked player in the field, is one of 28 LET winners in the field this week. She is joined by Australia’s Kelsey Bennett and France’s Agathe Laisne – both champions this season during the Aussie swing – plus Canada’s Anna Huang, Wales’ Darcey Harry, Germany’s Alexandra Försterling, England’s Alice Hewson and India’s Diksha Dagar.

England’s Lily May Humphreys also tees up in Joburg having won this event in 2023 at Modderfontein. Other past champions in the field include South Africa’s Lee-Anne Pace (2016) and Eswatini’s Nobuhle Dlamini (2019).

On the home front, no fewer than 13 South Africans will be taking to the fairways at Randpark Golf Club. Joining Alexander and Pace is Joburg local Caitlyn Macnab, a rookie on the LET, as well as SLT winners Danielle Du Toit, Cara Gorlei and Kaiyuree Moodley.

Elsewhere, Germany’s Celina Sattelkau leads the Sunshine Ladies Tour Order of Merit and will be vying for a hat-trick of wins on the circuit following victories at the SuperSport Ladies Challenge and NTT DATA Ladies Pro-Am. Click here to see the full field breakdown.

The final two rounds of the Joburg Ladies Open will be broadcast around the world as well as right here on the LET website. Further broadcast details to follow.
