This week in Sweden, Dame Laura Davies is targeting her first LET win since the 2010 Indian Open but says her main goal for next year is a place on Europe’s Solheim Cup team.
Are you pleased to be back at Vasatorp GC?
Yes. I love the course and that’s one of the reasons I came back because I know I can do well round here. Ball striking wise it’s very good and if I can hole some putts, which has been the problem this year, then who knows, I might have a chance.
Is it a difficult course?
Last year it was very difficult because of the wind but this year with no wind, the scoring could be unbelievably good. I think you could see four rounds, 20-under-par easily. If the wind gets up it will come flying up again.
Is The Solheim Cup a goal?
One of the reasons for being here is to try and get some Solheim Cup points. That is the main goal for next year but this year it’s to try and win a tournament and then win another one. If you don’t win the first one it’s hard to win the second one. You get the first win under your belt and away you go.
