Inkster names Creamer and Lang as U.S Solheim Cup Captain’s picks

U.S. Solheim Cup Captain Juli Inkster revealed Paula Creamer and Brittany Lang as her two captain’s picks for the 2015 U.S. Solheim Cup Team during a live, one-hour Golf Central special this evening from Golf Channel’s Orlando studios. The duo rounds out Inkster’s 12-player squad that includes five veterans with at least five previous appearances and one rookie.

“I’m very pleased with my two captain’s picks,” said Inkster. “They add a lot to the team not just as far as golf but chemistry and experience. They are very competitive players. Paula has been in a little bit of a funk but I expect her to be out of it and ready to go. B Lang has been playing really good. I’m looking forward to it and I think the team is really stoked to get over there and turn the tide a little bit. We are going there as underdogs but we are going to go in there and fight for everything.”

Creamer will make her sixth appearance on the U.S. Solheim Cup Team with a 12-6-5 all-time record and currently ranks third all-time in points earned for the Americans.

“I’m incredibly honored,” said Creamer. “I can’t wait to get over to Germany and be a part of the team. It’s always been the best memories competing for the U.S. Solheim Cup team and now to play under Juli Inkster is pretty special.”

Lang will also add experience to a veteran-led U.S. team as she will make her fourth appearance in the biennial match-play event. She boasts a 5-4-2 overall record for a total of six career points and was the leading point-earner (3) for the U.S. Team in Colorado in 2013.

“I am honored to have been named to the U.S. Solheim Cup team and wish to thank Captain Juli Inkster for her confidence in me,” Lang said. “I am also excited that I will be playing with so many of my friends as we represent our country in Germany next month.”
