Inbee Park |
Inbee Park has become the eighth player to reach the No. 1 spot in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings.
Park won the Kraft Nabisco Championship, the season’s first Major, on April 7 and moved into second position but was elevated further after a week off due to the points’ calculations.
Since the rankings began in February 2006 just eight players have been ranked No. 1. Lewis a month ago was the seventh and Park becomes the eighth.
Prior to that, Yani Tseng enjoyed a 109-week stint at No. 1. Other players who have held the position include Jiyai Shin, Ai Miyazato, Cristie Kerr, Lorena Ochoa and Annika Sorenstam.
