With 18 holes remaining in the 2025 Ladies European Tour (LET) season, there is more than just the Order of Merit title up for grabs as several stars target a top-10 finish in the standings to secure a place at the Final Stage of LPGA Q-Series.
One such player is Canada’s Anna Huang, the 17-year-old rookie who fired a sensational 67 (-5) on Saturday at the Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España presented by Oysho to make this a real possibility.
Currently 11th in the Order of Merit – a position boosted by her historic back-to-back wins in September – Huang sits just 57.52 points behind Ireland’s Lauren Walsh as the season-finale reaches its conclusion.
Playing alongside the Canadian, Walsh slipped down the leaderboard to T39 on Saturday after a disappointing 74 (+2). Huang meanwhile moved up to T6, with Perrine Delacour now the player currently preventing the rookie breaking into the top-10 (the Frenchwoman sits T2 through 54 holes and is projected to overtake both in the Order of Merit as it stands).
Per LPGA Tour regulations, Huang is too young to attend LPGA Q-Series, however was granted special permission to attend following her victory at the Lacoste Ladies Open de France.
“I petitioned to the LPGA back in July because of my age,” she explained. “They didn’t accept my application the first time, but after the two wins I reapplied and they accepted it. So if I can have a good week out here and finish top-10 I’ll be going to Q-Series.
“It’s definitely on my mind because I’m 11th right now. It’s literally right around the corner but I’ll just try to focus on one shot at a time and we’ll see what happens.”
Trailing Delacour by four shots on eight-under par, Huang will tee up in the penultimate group on Sunday alongside Australia’s Kirsten Rudgeley and Denmark’s Smilla Tarning Soenderby.
“I was striking the ball really well today,” Huang said, who posted six birdies in round three. “I made a couple of good putts on the back-nine too which really helped. Overall really solid. I was just trying to keep it steady because I had a double on day one and then a triple on day two.
“I think this golf course is really nice. I really like how the fairways roll, it gives me a couple of extra yards off the tee. And then the greens are really soft. It’s easier to stick the ball next to the pin.”
