HRH PRINCESS HAYA EXTENDS HER PATRONAGE TO OMEGA DUBAI LADIES MASTERS

HRH Princess Haya, along with Her daughter, HH Sheikha Al Jalila Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum presented the winner’s trophy to Shanshan Feng, the 2012 Omega Dubai Ladies Masters champion.

DUBAI, Oct 25  — HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, wife of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has extended Her patronage to the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters, reaffirming Her support for the premier women’s golfing event in the region.

Her continued support is a fitting recognition the role played by the season-ending Ladies European Tour event in promoting women’s golf in the UAE and across the region in the framework of Dubai’s broader goal of making the city the global centre for sports creativity, leadership and excellence.

Since its inception in 2006, the euro 500,000 (Dh 2.32 million) event, promoted and organized by golf in DUBAi, the world’s leading golfers from both sides of the Atlantic have showcased their talent, giving the tournament the feel of a “Major’ in women’s golf.

Pornanong Phatlum of Thailand will return to defend her title in a strong field headlined by all-time great Laura Davies and Charley Hull, both of England, while 2012 champion, Shanshan Feng of China has also committed.
