HEWSON HOPING TO CONTINUE MOMENTUM IN MOROCCO

England’s Alice Hewson has had a fantastic start to the 2024 season on the LET placing third at the season-opener at the Magical Kenya Ladies Open, before finishing seventh at the Aramco Saudi Ladies International Presented by PIF.

Hewson, who won the 2020 Investec South African Women’s Open is now looking to carry forward her recent good form.

“I’m happy with how I’ve started. I had a good off season, I took four weeks off which was nice and then I hit the ground running.

“I had several attempts at going to warm weather training and two out of three weren’t very warm. That wasn’t ideal.

“But I felt really clear about what I needed to do in the first two events.

It was a busy off-season for the Clement graduate as she made some changes with her caddy, having Rory Henderson on the bag.

However those changes seem to be paying dividends at the start of the year and Hewson hopes that will continue for the rest of the season.

“Going forwards into Morocco I just want to keep doing what we’re doing.

“I am just really focussed on the start line and stick to my processes. I think our chat’s really good on the golf course so we will just stick with it.”

Hewson is no stranger to Royal Golf Dar Es Salam after competing and finishing 19th at last years event

This week will be different conditions to what we have had the past two weeks. It will be way less hot. I think the grass will be quite a lot greener than what we’ve had.

“So this week we will have to make sure we get adjusted quickly to the different setup and climate and off we will go.”

Hewson will tee off at 13:10pm local time from tee 10 alongside France’s Anne-Charlotte Mora and home favourite Maha Haddioui.
