HEWSON EXCITED TO BE BACK ON HOME SOIL AFTER HER VICTORY

Alice Hewson

Alice Hewson is back in the area she grew up after clinching her second Ladies European Tour (LET) title last week.

The Englishwoman secured a playoff victory at last week’s VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open defeating India’s Tvesa Malik.

Hewson, who was born in Hemel Hempstead, is returning to Centurion Club where she has an attachment for the Aramco Team Series presented by PIF – London.

And the 26-year-old is excited to be able to tee it up at a place she knows so well following her victory.

“I can’t believe it, it was amazing,” she said. “It’s been an absolute whirlwind since then. I had to try and catch a flight and get straight here for the next event.

“I’m very excited to be here. It’s an absolute honour to be attached to Centurion. The course is normally in phenomenal condition and I’m just excited to get out there.”

There will be two competitions happening side-by-side at the Aramco Team Series – London with the Team competition being played over 36-holes over the first two days with the best two scores counting.

While the Individual is a 54-hole stroke play competition with the last round just having the top-60 professionals and ties competing.

Hewson now sits fifth in the LET Order of Merit with 1,092.99 points and having been away for so much of the year, she is excited to be able to see her family.

She continued: “It’s so amazing to be back home. I have been back home for probably the best part of 12 weeks now.

“To be able to have my family come down and spend some time with me this week and it’s actually my mum’s birthday on Saturday as well. We’re going to do a bit of celebrating with her. I’m excited to see them all.”

Hewson will begin round one at 12.39 pm (local time) alongside Sweden’s Sofie Bringner, South Africa’s Cara Gorlei and amateur Matthew Stillman.
