Caroline Hedwall is hoping for a good week ahead at the 2024 Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed which is being held at Vasatorps Golfklubb.
The co-sanctioned event between the DP World Tour and the LET will see 78 men and 78 women playing in the same groups for one prize fund and one trophy.
Solheim Cup star Hedwall teed it up at Vasatorps the last time the LET played here which was back in 2015.
The seven-time LET winner was in disbelief that was nine years ago but knows she’ll have plenty of support this week.
“I’m really excited to be here,” she said. “It feels incredible that it’s nine years ago that we played here the last time.
“I have great memories from here. I used to live here in Helsingborg, so it’s very special to be here and I have a lot of friends and family coming this week.
“I feel like my game is trending in the right direction, hopefully I can play a little bit better this week than last but it’s golf so anything can happen.”
Hedwall will begin her title tilt at 8.20 am (local time) from the 10th tee alongside Dutch star Anne Van Dam and Germany’s Yannik Paul.
The Swedish star doesn’t think the course has changed that much from 2015 and still remembered it during her practice round.
With Helsingborg being such a golf-oriented area, Hedwall is hopeful that the Swedish public will come out in force to watch the tournament.
She explained: “I played the back nine yesterday and I couldn’t see that many changes, that’s a good thing. I recognise the place and it’s just going to be a really nice week. The course is in really nice shape, and it will be a lot of fun to see a lot of people coming out to watch.
“I think it’s going to be great crowds. Golf interest in this area is huge, people are going to come from Helsingborg from Malmö from the other side of Skane and hopefully it will be crowded. It depends on the weather, but I think we’re going to see a lot of people out here.”
