HALL LOOKING FORWARD TO THE CHALLENGE AT ARAMCO SAUDI LADIES INTERNATIONAL

Georgia Hall

Georgia Hall will be teeing it up this week as a former champion having won the 2022 edition of the Aramco Saudi Ladies International Presented by PIF.

The Englishwoman recorded a sensational five-shot victory in windy conditions back at Royal Greens Golf & Country Club.

This year is the fifth edition of the tournament and it’s the first time Riyadh Golf Club is hosting the event after a successful Aramco Team Series Presented by PIF – Riyadh in October.

Hall, who finished eighth event in Riyadh last year, is expecting the course to play a little tougher this time around.

“I think the course is set up a bit differently this week to when I was here in October,” she said. “Last year it was a lot shorter and the rough wasn’t as thick.

“I don’t think they liked 30 under winning so they’re definitely pushing deeper back! It’s going to be quite windy this week, so similar to Royal Greens [Golf and Country Club], just need to control the ball flight.

“But you still have some really short par 5-s out there and it is a very different course to what we normally play this event at, so I’m looking forward to the challenge.”

As in 2023, there is a prize purse of $5m USD that is equal to the men’s equivalent up for grabs with a winner’s share of $750,000.

The 27-year-old will begin her title tilt at 7.15 am (local time) alongside American Lexi Thompson and Japan’s Ayaka Furue on Thursday morning.

Hall has always found success in this event and has an incredible record having not finished outside of the top 10 in any of the four previous editions.

“I obviously have some great memories from this event, and it gives me confidence going into this week,” she continued.

“It’s fantastic to have this event and I think it’s improved looking at the strength of the field this week, there are a lot of strong players playing.

“I’ve always tried to support the event every year and it’s one of my favourites to come to. It’s just helping grow the game of golf in this country [Saudi Arabia] and it’s doing a lot of good for women’s golf in general.”
