Georgia Hall is excited and ready to tee it up on The O’Meara Course at the 2024 KPMG Women’s Irish Open.

The English star, who was named to her fifth European Solheim Cup Team on Monday, will be playing in her first Women’s Irish Open.

It’s been a busy summer for Hall, who played at the Paris Olympic Games and back-to-back weeks in Scotland, but she is looking forward to playing in Ireland.

“I’m a big fan of Ireland, I haven’t played golf in Ireland for over ten years,” said Hall. “This is part of the European swing for me and I’m trying to enjoy the time in Europe.

“I love playing in Europe in general. I heard a lot about this golf course and I know the event is very big for Ireland, I wanted to be a part of it.

“I know this is one of the biggest events on the calendar for the LET. It’s great timing in the schedule and I know we get really big crowds here and especially Leona being from here. I’m really excited to tee it up on Thursday.”

The two-time LET winner has had two weeks of links golf with a T12 finish at the ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open and T22 at the AIG Women’s Open.

Hall believes her game is in a good place heading into KPMG Women’s Irish Open and is hoping to be near the top of the leaderboard.

She explained: “I feel very confident in my game, I feel it’s in a good place and mentally I’m in a good place. I really enjoyed the home of golf last week, the biggest event of the year for me personally.

“I played very steady and same with the Scottish Open the week before. I feel like everything is in a good place and I’ll hopefully be in contention this week.”

Hall will be teeing it up at 8.48 am (local time) alongside South Africa’s Casandra Alexander and Spain’s Marta Martin.

Despite not playing in the course until Wednesday, the 28-year-old had a long practice session on Tuesday to adjust to the conditions at Carton House.

She added: “I spent three or four hours today practicing, quite different conditions to last week so I wanted to get the speed of the greens. The greens are quite soft as well and do a couple of hours on my swing.

“My caddie has walked it and told me a little bit about it. The last few holes I’ve heard are the toughest, it’s quite soft but playing quite long which I think will be good and I know there’s five par-5s so hopefully, reach some of them.”
