Georgia Hall is hoping to defend her Team title as she prepares to tee it up at the Aramco Team Series presented by PIF – London.
The Major winner guided her Team to success in 2023 and came fifth in the Individual competition at Centurion Club.
But the Solheim Cup star has good memories of the tournament – even if the weather was nothing to be desired.
“I remember the weather was pretty bad last year,” said Hall. “I obviously had a really good team, we contributed really well to our score. I was really happy to get the win.
“Unfortunately, I won’t be having the same team this year, but we will do our best. It’s also nice to play a different format from what I personally normally play in. I’m looking forward to it.”
The Team competition will be played over 36-holes over the first two days with the best two scores counting, while the Individual is a 54-hole stroke play competition with the last round just having the top-60 professionals and ties competing.
Hall will be teeing it up at 1.15 pm (local time) alongside England’s Hannah Burke, Morocco’s Lina Belmati and amateur Shane Hart-Jones.
She continued: “As this is an Individual tournament as well, just focusing on my own game. It’s only two scores needed to count, so just hoping someone on the team gets a lot of birdies and then it’s okay to get a bogey here or there when our other partner comes in as well.
“In this event, it’s also very important what the amateur does with their shots. Fingers crossed; we get a good one! It’s also nice because I don’t get to play on the LET that much. I love supporting it, but I don’t know many of the girls now. It’s a chance to meet rookies on Tour and get to know them a little bit more.”
American star Alison Lee will be making her first appearance in the Aramco Team Series in 2024 after her record-breaking victory in Riyadh in 2023.
The Solheim Cup player has never played at Centurion Club before but is looking forward to the week ahead.
“I have a lot of good memories from Saudi last year,” said Lee. “I shot my lowest round ever and played really good over three days and had a really good stretch of golf for around a month at that time.
“I definitely wish I could do that all the time, but unfortunately, the reality of golf is that’s not the case, so I’m still trying to search for that. I always love playing in these events, having that team aspect is always fun.
“It’s going to be different this week, I have heard a lot of crazy things about last year and the weather being pretty insane. So far, it looks okay. It doesn’t seem like it will be that bad and we’ve had really good weather so far, I’m looking forward to the week.”
Lee will begin round one at 8.27 am (local time) alongside Switzerland’s Elena Moosmann, Norway’s Dorthea Forbrigd and amateur Kathryn Newton.
