December was a busy time for Linn Grant as she attempted to qualify for both the LPGA Tour and the Ladies European Tour.
The Swede spent two weeks in Alabama at Q-Series and ended the tournament in T35 meaning she secured status on the LPGA.
Grant then headed back to Europe and flew to La Manga Club in Spain with the hope of achieving the same goal.
Five rounds later and the 22-year-old had achieved what she set out by finishing on three-under for the tournament, Grant had secured her place in the top-20 and status on the LET in 2022.
“The goals I put up are the reason why it has been going the way it has and that is what I have to do,” said the 2017 PING Junior Solheim Cup player.
“I have to put up the toughest goals. It is always nice when things go well. It is a little bit a dream come true that’s for sure.”
Grant is no stranger to the LET having made three appearances in 2021, her first at the Scandinavian Mixed back in June while she was still an amateur.
The former Arizona State University player then turned professional in August and recorded back-to-back runner-up finishes at the Didriksons Skafto Open and Creekhouse Ladies Open.
The Swede also played three events on the LET Access Series and that was where she clinched her first professional win in October at the Terre Blanche Ladies Open
With status on both the LET and LPGA, Grant has the opportunity to play in events across the world and can’t wait to get started.
“Right now, I’m excited to do new stuff. I’m excited to play new events and play some majors.,” she continued.
“I have been playing the same amateur events for the past five years, so to have a new schedule and be excited for that will be fun.”
As one of the latest stars to join the Tour, here are a few quick fire questions with the LET rookie.
Favourite food?
I really like Asian fusion. It is more like high-end Asian food or Mexican food.
Favourite film?
I love Harry Potter, I watch them every year and I will probably do that at Christmas. I like thriller and action movies.
Favourite club in the bag?
My putter I think because that’s where the birdies are made. It didn’t used to be my putter, it used to be my driver but then I realised the last couple of years that the driver doesn’t really matter. You can be way off with your driver but if you make all the putts then you’re good to go.
Nickname?
Some of the girls in the Swedish team have some nicknames for me but they’re not very nice – not as if they’re bad but they’re not very cute.
Favourite course?
Sunningdale. I like them both, but I think the old course is a little bit more fun. I played Sunningdale foursomes there with Maja [Stark] two years ago and we won. It is a beautiful golf course and it is really fun, and I like the environment over there.
Most prized possession?
My boyfriend? He is all mine.
Karaoke song?
Who came up with these questions? I can’t just come up with a song! Probably an R&B song, something easy that doesn’t require too much. I’m decent, I would do karaoke and people would think she can quite sing well I hope so!

I used to do jujitsu when I was younger. It’s a martial art that I used to do when I was five.
