Dutch golfers Christel Boeljon and Dewi Claire Schreefel joined Dutch celebrities Dominique van der Hulst and Isa Hoes for a putting and chipping contest on top of the tallest building in Benelux on Tuesday ahead of the Deloitte Ladies Open.

The players gathered on the 44th floor of the Maas in Rotterdam Tower to promote the tournament’s official charity, Make-A-Wish Netherlands.

Two greens were placed on the roof of the 161.2 metre high building, home to the headquarters of Deloitte Netherlands, where such an activity has never taken place before. Eventually the team of Christel and Isa, an actress, won the contest, despite a fine ‘hole-in-one’ from Dewi, who was paired with singer, Dominique.

Make-A-Wish Netherlands

This year, the Deloitte Ladies Open is committed to supporting Make-A-Wish Netherlands, through a number of activities at and around the tournament. Make-A-Wish aims to fulfil the wishes of children aged between 3 and 18 years with life threatening illnesses. Founded in 1989, so far the charity has made 4,246 wishes come true.

Make-A-Wish hole No.4

During the Deloitte Ladies Open, hole-4 at Broekpolder will be a special Make-A-Wish hole. This means that the first player who scores a hole in one there will ensure that EUR 15,000 is donated to Make-A-Wish Netherlands by the tournament organisers.

Make-A-Wish golf balls

Visitors can contribute to the charity by purchasing special Make-A-Wish golf balls. Within the pack, each day one green golf ball will be hidden and the lucky person that finds that ball will win a golf set from Nike Golf.

Donations

During the tournament spectators will be invited to make donations into boxes on site. There is also a “Putting Contest” in the Sports Plaza where every hour, a putter from Nike Golf will be raffled among the visitors who make a ‘hole in one’. All contributions will go to Make-A-Wish Netherlands.
