Glamour Girl Lacey leads by one at Q School

Maria Beautell of Spain carded a three-under-par 69 and finished alone in second position, with her sister and fellow Ladies European Tour professional Sara on caddie duties.

Sharing third place on 70 were South Africa’s Stacy Lee Bregman, Melodie Bourdy of France, Australia’s Helen Beatty, Austria’s Nicole Gergely, Finland’s Hanna-Leena Salonen, Scotland’s Lynn Kenny and Rui Yokomine of Japan.

A further nine players shared tenth place on 71 and they were: Felicity Johnson, Sophie Hunter, Samantha Head and Sophie Walker from England, Ireland’s Claire Coughlan, Australia’s Heidi McCulkin, Maria Verchenova from Russia, Denmark’s Julie Tvede and Lee-Anne Pace from South Africa.

All competitors will play the first 54-holes before the cut field of 50 players and ties contest the final round on Saturday. At the conclusion of 72 holes, 25 players will obtain full playing rights for the 2007 Ladies European Tour.
