Georgia Hall has climbed 41 places on the Rolex Rankings after she finished in a tie for third place in the Ricoh Women’s British Open at Kingsbarns.
The result means that she has climbed into the world’s top 50 for the first time in her career (44th) and she is now the seventh highest ranked European player globally after four top-10s from five starts on the LET in 2017.
Hall also secured the top spot on the LET Solheim Cup Points list and will make her debut in the event as a member of the European team next week at Des Moines in Iowa, which will be the highlight of her career so far.
The 21-year-old from Bournemouth in England was one of the main contenders for the Ricoh Women’s British Open Major title.
There were seven LET Members in the top 20, including the winner, In-Kyung Kim and Angel Yin, who was a rookie on Tour last year. Yin finished tied for 11th in the championship and after the final round was selected as a pick by United States Solheim Cup Captain Juli Inkster.
England’s Jodi Ewart Shadoff who fired a course record equalling eight-under-par, 64, in her final round, ended in solo second place. This moves the English golfer from 51st in the Rolex Rankings, up to 28th.
Caroline Masson also tied for third place with Georgia and climbed 15 places up into 49th on the Rolex Rankings. World number 13 Anna Nordqvist tied for 7th and world number 25 Charley Hull tied for 16th place.
