G4D STAR TRIES CADDYING

Danish talent Mette Wegge Lynggaard, a participant in last year’s G4D Skaftö Open, made her caddie debut in the Jabra Ladies Open, working alongside fellow Dane Linette Littau Durr over three rounds at Evian Resort Golf Club.

Mette, the second ranked female in the World Ranking for Golfers with Disability, who plays off a 1.9 handicap, offered her services to Linette after meeting her at the Skaftö Open.

The former swimmer, who was born with cerebral palsy, which affects her left arm and leg, says that the experience will help her to prepare for the European Championships in the Netherlands in two weeks’ time.

“It was a great chance to learn from the best, on the course. Every trick I can learn out here I can bring back to help my own game. It was a great opportunity to visit the Tour once more and hopefully we can be back again, with an EDGA tournament like we had at the Skaftö Open last year. If we can, I will use a week of my holiday to do that, as I am a part-time bookkeeper and self-employed also. I need to do that to fund my travel.”

Linette is now keen to return the favour and caddie for Mette, who was invited to play in the G4D Volvo Car Scandi Mixed, but unfortunately, her boss would not give her the time off work to be able to play in the event, which will take place next month just ahead of the Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed at Ullna Golf Club in Stockholm.
