A welcome reception was held at Carton House on Tuesday evening to kick off the 2024 KPMG Women’s Irish Open.
The guest list included sponsors of the tournament, as well as Founding members of the Ladies European Tour (LET) and LET staff.
After a small drinks reception, Roddy Carr was MC for the evening and hosted a Q&A with a panel of special guests.
Chris Langford and Maxine Burton, who were both Founders of the LET and played in the first season of the Tour in 1979, told stories of how the Tour started and the adventures the players got up to on their travels.
The duo were also joined by current LET star Georgia Hall, who was able to reflect on her time on the Tour and explain how far it has come.
After a delicious dinner provided by Carton House, LET chair Marta Figueras-Dotti made a speech looking back at how far the Tour has come and honouring the founders who blazed the trail for the LET to become what it is now.
The evening came to a close with some group photographs as everyone looked forward to the start of the KPMG Women’s Irish Open which begins on Thursday 29 August.
