Following the first four trips on the Ladies European Tour (LET) in 2024, let’s have a closer look at the European Team standings ahead of this year’s tournament.
The 2024 Solheim Cup will take place from September 13-15 at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Virginia.
Suzann Pettersen is at the helm and will have four Vice-Captains alongside her with Caroline Martens, Dame Laura Davies, Anna Nordqvist and Mel Reid all confirmed to be part of the European backroom staff.
Team Europe will be comprised of the top two players from the LET Solheim Cup standings, six players from the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings and four captain’s picks.
The qualifying period for the 2024 Solheim Cup began at the 2022 Aramco Team Series – New York and will end after the 2024 AIG Women’s Open.
England’s Charley Hull leads the LET Solheim Cup points list having accumulated 154.25 points from the 11 events she has played.
Hull, who has made six appearances in the Solheim Cup, has played two events on the LET in 2024 and finished T3 at the Aramco Saudi Ladies International Presented by PIF and second in the Individual at the Aramco Team Series Presented by PIF – Tampa.
Germany’s Alexandra Försterling now sits in second place in the LET Solheim Cup points ranking following her victory in Tampa at the weekend.
Försterling, who was a rookie on the LET in 2023, has now won three times in the past six months and has 104.75 points to put herself into contention for a spot on the European Team.
Leading the charge behind is Spain’s Ana Peláez Trivino, who sits in third place on the list and is just 1.75 points behind Försterling.
Fellow Spaniard and Solheim Cup hero Carlota Ciganda is fourth with 98.31 points while France’s Celine Boutier is fifth with 94.55 points.
German duo Esther Henseleit and Olivia Cowan are next on the points list with 72.07 and 72.05 points respectively, with England’s Bronte Law in eighth, Sweden’s Linn Grant in ninth and England’s Alice Hewson in tenth.
As it stands on the week of 11th March, the six players who are qualifying via the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings are Boutier, Grant, Georgia Hall, Leona Maguire, Ciganda and Nordqvist.
