Zuzana Kamasova of Slovakia is hoping to secure a second Lalla Meryem Cup trophy in Morocco this week – but this time – for another player.
The 2011 champion at Golf du Soleil in Agadir is caddying for her friend Klára Spilkova of the Czech Republic, who is seeking her first Ladies European Tour title at Golf de L’Océan.
Kamasova said: “It is super special to be back here, because at the hotel, there are still the same waiters and they all call me ‘champ.’ It will always be a special place for me so returning here is very nice and it always will be. Winning with Klara would be a nice double.”
Spilkova hopes that some of her friend’s winning magic will rub off on her this week and she said: “I really trust Zuzana and it’s always good to have someone around who’s already won a tournament. She can show me the feeling and we’ll go for it!
“It would be the best thing ever if we won this week. I feel that my game is very good. I went to England last week and worked on a lot of things after China so I’m feeling great. I worked on my long game, short game, swing, hitting the ball very solid. I’m hitting in to out and playing a little draw. I really like this course and have played well here so I really like Morocco.”
As well as this week, Kamasova plans to caddie for Spilkova at the ISPS HANDA Ladies European Masters, Pilsen Golf Masters, Ricoh Women’s British Open and Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open.
