Florentyna Parker will be hoping that it’s third time lucky when she tees up at National Golf Club in Belek, Antalya, in the Turkish Airlines Ladies Open.
She tied for fourth in the 2010 event and shared second place in 2011. The event was not played in 2009, which was her rookie year on the Ladies European Tour.
“I’ve always played well here and in 2010 I tied fourth and last year I tied second, so I really like the course. I’ve got memories and looking forward to the week.
“The course is in great condition and I think the last years were good as well. They’ve changed a few holes obviously and I’ve just played it for the first time today. On 12 they’ve moved the tee forward and the green back so it’s a different shape and a very slopey green.
“On 15 they’ve changed the par five so there are no bunkers on the right and they’ve moved that hill further left so it’s an easier tee shot.
“I just hope to play well. It’s a tough course so scoring is never low here and if you can get a couple of low rounds in here it should be good. Double figures is a certain top three.”
Parker added that the greens are in good condition and with thicker rough, chip shots will be more difficult, but it shouldn’t be a worry as she is in such a rich vein of form.
“I’ve played quite well this year finishing 11th in China and second last week in Scotland so this year is going to be a good I think and hopefully I can win again,” she added.
Parker picked up her first win as a professional at the ABN AMRO Ladies Open in Holland in 2010 and with 11 top 10 finishes in her first three seasons will be one to watch this year.
