FIVE THINGS TO KNOW AHEAD OF THE 2024 WOMEN’S NSW OPEN

The 2024 Ladies European Tour (LET) season continues this week with back-to-back events in Australia.

First up is the Women’s NSW Open which is being held at Magenta Shores Golf & Country Club from March 29-31.

Before the tournament gets underway on Friday, here are a few talking to points to look out for…

2024 LET leaders in town

Bronte Law is currently leading the LET Order of Merit with 738.75 points from her first four events of the 2024 season.

Law has accumulated the total thanks to her win at the Lalla Meryem Cup and a third-place finish in the Individual event at the Aramco Team Series Presented by PIF – Tampa.

Shannon Tan leads the Rookie of the Year standings with 574 points from her first four events after she won the season-opening Magical Kenya Ladies Open.

The duo will both be hoping to accumulate more points this week and consolidate their positions in the rankings.

Former champion hoping for more success

Meghan MacLaren has an affinity with Australia and loves playing Down Under having won all three of her LET titles here.

The Englishwoman won the 2018 edition of the Women’s NSW Open and successfully defended her title in 2019.

MacLaren also secured victory at the 2022 Australian Women’s Classic and will be hoping to find form again this week.

Nationalities aplenty represented

There is a record number of nationalities on the LET in 2024 with 402 members coming from 43 different nationalities.

At Magenta Shores this week, there will be 132 players from 36 different nations teeing it up.

Some of the countries, the players are from include the Philippines, Panama, Singapore, Colombia, Taiwan and the Cook Islands.

Home favourites hoping to impress

With back-to-back events in Australia, there is plenty of home interest over the next two weeks.

There will be 30 Australian players teeing it up at this including Kirsten Rudgeley, who finished 30th in last year’s Race to Costa del Sol on the LET.

She is also joined by Kelsey Bennett, Kristalle Blum, Stephanie Bunque who are all members of the LET Access Series.

Keh sisters teeing it up

There will be something unique happening this week with three sisters teeing it up in the Women’s NSW Open.

Munchin, Wenyung and Siyi Keh will all being playing in the event which is co-sanctioned with the WPGA Tour of Australasia.

Both Munchin and Wenyung are LET members so will be hoping for a good week, while younger sister Siyi is joining them.
