FIVE TALKING POINTS AHEAD OF THE 2024 TIPSPORT CZECH LADIES OPEN

Diksha Dagar

After a week in Italy, a week in Czechia awaits the Ladies European Tour (LET) with the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open.

Royal Beroun Golf Club is hosting the tournament, which takes place June 21-23, for the fifth time.

Here are a few things to know ahead of the tournament…

Former champions teeing it up

Defending champion Diksha Dagar will be hoping to retain the crown she won in Beroun in 2023.

It was a second LET victory for the Indian star who beat Thailand’s Trichat Cheenglab by three strokes.

But Dagar is not the only former champion in town with home favourite Jana Melichova, who won in 2022 while still an amateur, also playing.

Czech stars in town

From the field of 132 players, there are no fewer than 14 Czech players teeing it up this week on their home turf.

They are led by two-time LET winner Klara Davidson Spilkova alongside fellow LET winners Kristyna Napoleaova and Jana Melichova, as well as Sara Kouskova.

There are also four Czech amateurs getting an opportunity to play including PING Junior Solheim winner Denisa Vodickova.

Opportunities at the top of the rankings

Belgium’s Manon De Roey has the chance to go to the top of the LET Order of Merit standings at the conclusion of this week’s tournament.

With Order of Merit leader Bronte Law teeing it up in the third major of the year, a good result will put the Belgian in first place.

De Roey currently sits 122.18 points behind Law and will need to finish in the top five to claim top spot.

Final week of Olympic qualification

This week marks the final qualification event for the women’s field at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games with the deadline being June 24.

There are plenty of LET players who will be looking to play at the Olympics for the first time this summer.

It’s an important week for those who want to represent their country and they will be doing all they can to secure their spot in Paris.

Place at Evian on the line

It is also the final week for LET players to try and secure their spot at the 2024 Amundi Evian Championship.

The commitment deadline is June 25 with the winner of the 2024 Jabra Ladies Open and LET players ranked one to seven on the 2023 Race to Costa del Sol already in the field.

On top of that, the top seven players – who are not already exempt – from the top-20 in the current LET Order of Merit will also secure a place in the fourth major of the year.
