The final round of the Evian Masters presented by Société Générale is under way on a warm and sunny day at Evian Royal Resort on the southern bank of Lac Léman in France.
American Stacy Lewis and South Korean Inbee Park began the day tied for the lead at 11 under but there have been several twists and turns already today as the players contend for the €397,068.75 first prize.
The 2006 Evian Masters champion Karrie Webb of Australia birdied the fourth to join Lewis in pole position after Park bogeyed the third.
Lewis missed a short birdie putt at the fifth, which Park birdied to get back into a share of the lead again.
Lewis then took the advantage when she made a birdie putt at the par-four sixth from 15 around yards right of the flag.
The pair remained locked in a battle as Park made a tricky birdie putt, breaking from left to right, at the seventh, to join Lewis at 12 under.
However, Park moved a stroke ahead of the field at the turn with a birdie at the par-five ninth.
The 24-year-old South Korean then picked up another shot at the 10th to move two clear Webb and Lewis at 14 under, but promptly dropped a stroke at the 11th.
The 2007 Evian Masters champion Natalie Gulbis made three straight birdies from the 11th to join Park at 13 under. The pair was joined by Webb, who birdied the 12th and then chipped in from the left side of the 13th green for birdie. Park then edged clear again with a birdie on 13.
At this point, the contest remained wide open with a further four players adrift on 11 under par. They are Anna Nordqvist, Se Ri Pak, Shanshan Feng and amateur Hyo Joo Kim.
Spain’s Beatriz Recari set the clubhouse target with a round of 66 to end 10 under par and was joined in the clubhouse on that number by Evian first-timer, South Korean Ilhee Lee.
