The Ladies European Tour (LET) is in Deauville this week as our stars tee up for the 34th edition of the Lacoste Ladies Open de France.
A field of 96 players from 29 nations will be competing in a 54-hole stroke play competition with a cut to the top 60 professionals and ties after the second round on Friday.
The field at the par-71 Golf Barriere is made up of 13 invites alongside 83 LET players from several different categories.
Sweden’s Johanna Gustavsson is back to defend her title after an emotional breakthrough win last time out. She is joined by 2022 champion Ines Laklalech from Morocco and 2015 winner Celine Herbin from France.
Herbin is one of 17 French players competing on home soil in Normandy. The two-time LET winner is joined by Anne-Lise Caudal who is making her 20th appearance in the competition.
The inform Pauline Roussin-Bouchard will be leading the home charge with two runner-up finishes to her name in the last two events.
2024 PING Junior Solheim Cup players Sara Brentcheneff and Alice Kong have been given invites into the event. Kong is the youngest player in the field at 14-years-old.
Also on the invite list this week is Curtis Cup star Sara Byrne from Ireland. The 22-year-old turned pro after helping GB & I to victory in September in the biennial competition and finished T41 in Spain last week.
Seven winners from the 2024 LET season will be vying to add another title with to their names with last week’s La Sella Open champion Helen Briem teeing up once again. The German is joined by English trio Bronte Law, Amy Taylor and Annabel Dimmock, Switzerland’s Chiara Tamburlini, Belgium’s Manon De Roey and Singapore’s Shannon Tan.
Tamburlini, Law and De Roey are the current top three in the LET Order of Merit.
Rookies are plentiful with 14 first year graduates in the field at Golf Barriere. There are no fewer than 31 LET winners teeing up with a combined 59 wins on the circuit.
