The Ladies European Tour (LET) is at Coffs Harbour for this week’s Australian Women’s Classic – Presented by Pacific Bay Resort Studios.
It is the sixth edition of the tournament and the fifth time that the tournament is being co-sanctioned by the LET and the WPGA Tour of Australasia.
Bonville Golf Resort is the host venue once again with each hole flanked by towering Flood Gum trees.
A field of 133 players from 37 nations will be teeing it up in a 54-hole stroke play competition with a cut to the top 60 professionals and ties after the second round.
With it being a co-sanctioned tournament, the field is made up of 82 LET members, 30 WPGA members and 21 Golf NSW invites.
Three winners from the 2024 season are in attendance with Magical Kenya Ladies Open winner Shannon Tan, Lalla Meryem Cup victor Bronte Law and winner of last week’s Women’s NSW Open Mariajo Uribe all here.
Law extended her advantage at the top of the LET Order of Merit with a second-place finish at Magenta Shores, while Tan still leads the Rookie of the Year.
England’s Meghan MacLaren was the winner at Bonville the last time the LET visited, while Norway’s Marianne Skarpnord also won here in 2019.
Thailand’s Trichat Cheenglab – last season’s Race to Costa del Sol champion – will be teeing it up in her fifth event of the season.
Dutch star Anne Van Dam is the top-ranked player in the field as she sits 80th in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings.
