FIELD BREAKDOWN: ARAMCO TEAM SERIES PRESENTED BY PIF – TAMPA

The Ladies European Tour (LET) is in Tampa, United States this week for the first of five Aramco Team Series Presented by PIF events in the 2024 season.

It is the second time the event has taken place in Florida, but it is the first time in Tampa with Feather Sound Country Club as the venue.

A field of 84 professionals from 24 nations will tee it up in both Team and Individual competitions in Tampa.

The Team competition will be played over 36 holes over the first two days with the best two scores counting, while the Individual is a 54-hole stroke play competition with the last round just having the top-60 professionals and ties competing.

It is a stacked field this week that is made up of 11 invites, three holding spots and 70 LET players.

Two LET winners from the 2024 season are in attendance with Magical Kenya Ladies Open winner Shannon Tan here, as well as Lalla Meryem Cup victor Bronte Law.

Five rookies will be competing in Tampa with Shannon Tan, Annabell Fuller, Chiara Tamburlini, Hannah Screen and Nataliya Guseva.

There are three former champions in the field with Spain’s Carlota Ciganda defending her title, while England’s Charley Hull and Lexi Thompson of the USA also won the title in 2021 and 2022, respectively.

Three-time LET winner Hull is also the top-ranked player in the field as she sits eighth in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings.

Hull is also one of the former Order of Merit champions in the field alongside Thailand’s Trichat Cheenglab, Spain’s Ciganda and England’s Trish Johnson.

There are three Major champions in town with American duo Thompson and Brittany Linicome teeing it up as is 2020 AIG Women’s Open champion Sophia Popov.

The field competing in Tampa also contains 41 Tour winners who have a combined total of 96 wins between them.
