FIELD BREAKDOWN: 2025 PIF SAUDI LADIES INTERNATIONAL

Patty Tavatanakit

The second week of the Ladies European Tour (LET) season is upon us with the PIF Saudi Ladies International taking place at Riyadh Golf Club from February 13-15.

There is a 54-hole individual stroke play competition, as well as a 36-hole Team competition for the first two days of the tournament, with a total purse of $5 million USD up for grabs.

It is a stacked field of 112 players from 33 nations which is made up of eight tournament invitations, 62 LET players and 42 players from the top 300 in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings.

Thailand’s Patty Tavatanakit returns as the defending champion having cruised to a seven-stroke victory at Riyadh Golf Club in 2024.

However, the Thai star is not the only player who has previously won the tournament with both Denmark’s Emily Kristine Pedersen (2020) and England’s Georgia Hall (2022) also teeing it up this week.

England’s Charley Hull has also had success in Riyadh winning the Individual crown at the Aramco Team Series Presented by PIF – Riyadh back in November.

There are also plenty of players who have secured a Team victory in the field with Chiara Tamburlini captaining her Team to victory here in 2024 and Carlota Ciganda doing the same in 2023.

England’s Cara Gainer clinched victory at the LET’s opening event of the season last week defeating India’s Diksha Dagar in a playoff at the Lalla Meryem Cup.

The 29-year-old, who only turned professional in 2020, will be hoping to continue her momentum this week in Saudi Arabia.

Two players from the top 10 in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings are in town with China’s Ruoning Yin and Thailand’s Jeeno Thitikul both teeing it up.

England’s Mimi Rhodes and USA’s Brianna Navarrosa, who were both invites this week, are the two LET rookies in the field and will be looking to take the opportunity to have a good week in Riyadh.

From the 112-player field, there are 47 LET winners who have a combined total of 110 LET wins between them.
