FIELD BREAKDOWN: 2024 TIPSPORT CZECH LADIES OPEN

There is a trip to Czechia this week for the Ladies European Tour (LET) with the Tipsport Czech Ladies Open.

It is the sixth edition of the tournament which started on the LET in 2019 and it is the fifth time Royal Beroun Golf Club is hosting.

The tournament is a 54-hole stroke play competition with a cut to the top-60 professionals and ties after the second round.

In 2024, there are 403 members of the LET from 44 different nations and this week, there are 132 players from 35 nations teeing it up.

India’s Diksha Dagar is the defending champion having recorded a three-stroke victory over Thailand’s Trichat Cheenglab in 2023.

Home favourite Jana Melichova is also one of the former champions having won the tournament while still an amateur in 2022 and the Czech star turned professional and joined the LET after her victory.

Melichova is one of 14 Czech players in attendance this week with others including two-time LET winner Klara Davidson Spilkova, LET winner Kristyna Napoleaova and Sara Kouskova.

Czech amateur Denisa Vodickova, who is a two-time PING Junior Solheim Cup winner, is in the field while fellow Czech amateur Miriam Barcalova is the youngest player this week.

Two winners from the 2024 LET season will be vying to add another title with Singapore’s Shannon Tan (Magical Kenya Ladies Open) and Belgium’s Manon De Roey (Investec SA Women’s Open) both in town.

With LET Order of Merit winner Bronte Law playing in the third major of the year, there is an opportunity for De Roey to jump ahead in the standings as she sits just 122.18 points behind.

There are 17 LET rookies in the field this week including Tan, who sits second in the Rookie of the Year standings.

While of the 132 players in the field, there are 31 LET winners who have a combined total of 65 LET wins between them.
