FIELD BREAKDOWN: 2024 LA SELLA OPEN

The Ladies European Tour (LET) season continues this week with a trip to Spain after the Solheim Cup took place in the United States.

It is the second edition of the La Sella Open which appeared on the schedule in 2023 and is taking place at La Sella Golf Resort in Denia, Alicante.

The tournament will see a 72-hole stroke play competition take place from 19-22 September with a cut to the top 60 professionals and ties after 36 holes.

In 2024, there are 403 members of the LET from 44 different nations and this week, there are 132 players from 35 nations teeing it up.

Defending champion Nuria Iturrioz is back again having secured her fourth LET title here in 2023 after defeating Germany’s Laura Fuenfstueck in a playoff.

Iturrioz is one of 15 Spanish players teeing it up on home soil, she is also joined by fellow LET winners Ana Peláez Trivino, Marta Martin, Carmen Alonso and Maria Hernandez.

Nine winners from the 2024 LET season are in attendance including Martin, as well as Annabel Dimmock – who won the KPMG Women’s Irish Open last time out.

Switzerland’s Chiara Tamburlini heads into this week leading both the Order of Merit and Rookie of the Year standings.

Four-time LET Access Series winner Helen Briem is an invite this week, the German teenager recently turned professional and won the 2024 Rose Ladies Open.

Meanwhile of the 132 players in the field, there are 40 LET winners who have a combined total of 84 LET wins between them.
