While the Ladies European Tour takes a well deserved rest the European girls are still showing what they are made of on the LPGA Tour. Following the spectacular European Solheim Cup win in Barsebäck, Sweden, the European girls have gone on to prove that they are the best in the world across the pond!

Following her success as the winning captain to the European PING Junior Solheim Cup team, Helen Alfredsson went on to win the Long Drugs Challenge, pushing herself past the $3 million mark in career earnings. Laura Davies is back to form following a third place at the Mobile LPGA tournament of Champions and a tied second place at the CJ Nine Bridges Classic. It looked like three time winner on the 2003 Ladies European Tour, Sophie Gustafson’s year couldn’t get any better after being crowned winner of the European Order of Merit, but her win at the Samsung World Championship, her first on the LPGA tour since 2001, topped off her best season to date. Coupled with a second place behind fellow compatriot Annika Sörenstam at the Mizuno Classic and being an invaluable member of the 2003 winning Solheim Cup team things should prove exciting for the Swede going into the 2004 season.

With the European ladies continuing to make waves on both sides of the Atlantic the Ladies European Tour can only expect to gain more recognition and establish an even greater fan base world wide.
