With two counting events left to play in Sanya and Dubai, Pedersen is €31,204.12 ahead of Koerstz Madsen. The winner’s cheque at the Sanya Ladies Open is worth €45,000 while second is worth €30,450.

Both Pedersen and Koerstz Madsen come from Smoerum Golf Club in Denmark and are extremely closely matched at seventh and ninth on the order of merit respectively. They are also both playing in the Sanya Ladies Open at Yalong Bay Golf Club for the first time.

Pedersen said: “I think this golf course is very good, it’s tricky without the wind and the greens are much smaller than India so it’s a new challenge and a great place to be. I’ll do my best every time and this is just another week. Of course my target is to be at the top again.”
