Carlota Ciganda secured her seventh LET title at last year’s Aramco Team Series Presented by PIF – Florida.
The LET is taking a trip to the Sunshine State for the second time, but in 2024 the tournament is taking place in Tampa.
Feather Sound Country Club is the host venue which will see two competitions happening side by side with the 54-hole Individual stroke play and the 36-hole Team event.
Ciganda clinched a one-shot victory in 2023 but believes it will be a different contest this year with many more birdie opportunities on offer.
“The course is obviously different, and I think last year’s course was very difficult,” said the seven-time LET winner.
“This course is different, it’s a bit easier and much wider off the tee. I think the scoring is going to be much lower. It’s a fun course to play, lots of birdies and hopefully, I can have a great week and be up there on Sunday.”
Ciganda has had success in both competitions having captained her Team to victory at the Aramco Team Series Presented by PIF – Riyadh in October.
At the Draft, the Spaniard picked LET rookie Annabell Fuller and will also be joined by 19-time LET winner Trish Johnson.
The trio are joined by amateur Becky Sanderson and will begin their title tilt at 10.57 am (local time) on Friday.
Ciganda loves playing in team events and has great memories from playing in the Aramco Team Series events.
She explained: “I love team events. I think everyone knows that. I just love being part of a team, and Riyadh was amazing, I have great memories playing with Ale [Fanali], Sara [Kouskova], and then LJ, our amateur.
“I went with Annabell [Fuller], I don’t know her that much, but I’ve heard great things about her. I’m excited for the week to play for the team and to play as an individual.
“When I started playing on the Ladies European Tour 10 or 11 years ago, I remember I played a lot with Laura Davies and Trish [Johnson]. I love playing with them.
“I think it’s just a lot of experience. I love how quick they play, how creative they are. They’ve been legends for me, like playing so many Solheim Cups. I think they have so much experience they love sports like me. They love football, so we talk about football. I always admire them, and for me, it’s always a lot of fun.”
The first round of the Aramco Team Series Presented by PIF – Tampa will begin at 8.45 am (local time).
