DE ROEY BOOSTED FOR REST OF SEASON BY TOP-10 MAJOR FINISH

Manon De Roey

Manon De Roey recorded her best-ever finish in a Major championship at the 2025 Chevron Championship last week.

The Belgian star finished in second place in the LET Order of Merit for 2024 which gained her access to a spot in the first Major of the year.

Earlier this season, De Roey captured her third Ladies European Tour (LET) title winning the Australian Women’s Classic at Coffs Harbour Golf Club.

Since then, the Olympian has been playing on the LPGA Tour and put in a stellar performance at Carlton Woods in Texas.

The 33-year-old produced rounds of 68-71-76-69 to finish in a share of ninth place alongside fellow European Carlota Ciganda of Spain.

“It feels great to finish in the top 10 in the first major of the year, but also just a major in general,” she said.

“I haven’t been feeling that comfortable on the LPGA, I feel like I need to prove something out here. I definitely proved myself at Chevron and I just believed that I deserved to be there. I’m very happy.

“I had a really good first round, I wasn’t nervous at all on the first tee or anything. I felt quite comfortable, and we had a good gameplan. It’s really nice to have Maria [Beautell] on the bag, she makes me feel very comfortable.

“I can say how I feel, so that’s been working really well. It was nice to be in the mix with all the big stars. I had a bit of a bad putting day on the third round, but I made up for it in the last round.”

This is De Roey’s second stint on the LPGA Tour, she first qualified for the 2023 season but was unable to keep her card and played on the LET in 2024.

After finishing second on the LET Order of Merit, the Belgian headed LPGA Q-Series and secured her card with a fourth-place finish.

The three-time LET winner spent the beginning of the season on the LET before heading Stateside and is excited for the year ahead.

She continued: “Winning is always a confidence boost, it doesn’t matter where or how it is, so Australia definitely helped.

“The LPGA is a different Tour, different people, I really miss the people from the LET – it’s more like a family for me. It’s always a bit harder, but I worked really hard on my game over the winter, and I know I deserve to be here on this Tour, and I know I can do it. It’s just sometimes hard when the level is a bit higher, and you have to shoot really low to make the cut.

“Chevron definitely gave me a boost for the rest of the season. I’m looking forward to all the new tournaments. Every tournament I play is a new course. I have to get used to that, so I’m playing a lot of practice rounds and getting comfortable with the courses, but we always try to make a good game plan. I’m excited for the rest of the season.”
