“You know, it’s a different tour, I’m trying to get up on the money list because obviously in America it’s horrible and I’m so far down its crazy.”
Like Davies, More, 24, from Sheffield, also rediscovered her form after a “rocky” start to the season, in which she missed the cut in her first two starts in the Tenerife and Spanish Ladies Opens.
“It was just steady really. Just one dropped shot and seven birdies. It was good. I couldn’t complain with any part of my golf. It was pretty consistent,” she said. “I’ve had a tough couple of weeks just starting the Tour but I’ve come out today and had a good round.
“It was really funny because last week in Spain I felt like my game was coming around but I’ve been struggling with my putting so I actually brought a different putter with me this week. That definitely helped. I mean I still had 30 putts but in comparison to last week that was nothing. It really made a difference.”
More is playing in her first year with the Ladies European Tour, after she turned professional in August 2004 and failed to gain playing privileges. She has been competing in Asia over the winter, with two starts in China, a tournament in Malaysia, and one in Thailand. She also played on the West Coast Tour in America.
She was the 2004 English mid-amateur Champion and her amateur record included two appearances in both the Curtis Cup and Vagliano Trophy teams. She represented GB&I in the Curtis Cup in both 2002 and 2004.
