DARQUEA STAYING PATIENT AT FINAL STAGE OF LET Q-SCHOOL

Daniela Darquea

Daniela Darquea is hoping to take a fun mental approach into the Final Qualifier of Lalla Aicha Q-School.

The Ecuadorian plays most of her golf in the United States but decided to try her hand at the Q-School for the Ladies European Tour (LET).

Darquea, who has spoken to friends on the LET, is aiming to give herself as many playing opportunities as possible for the 2025 season.

“I came to LET Q-School because I want to give myself as many playing opportunities as possible,” she said.

“I have definitely talked to other players that play on the LET and they all have expressed that this Tour is fun and a great stage to play professionally.

“My season was okay. I know I can perform better. I feel like I wanted and needed more playing opportunities throughout the year.

“Playing both Q-Schools has been very demanding. I come from a very stressful week in the U.S. hoping to recover and adjust quick to the jetlag and be ready to play my best on Monday.”

The Final Qualifier will see a 90-holes stroke play competition with a cut after 72 holes, with the top 65 and ties progressing to the final day.

For the first four rounds, competitors will alternate between Royal Golf Marrakech and Al Maaden Golf Marrakech; the fifth round will be played on Al Maaden Golf Marrakech.

Darquea is playing in Morocco for the first time and is going to take a different mindset into this week’s Final Qualifier compared to at LPGA Q-Series.

“It’s my first time to Morocco and so far, I’m loving this place,” she continued. “The courses are great tests of golf. Royal Golf is a tough course that demands a lot from tee to green and on the other hand, Al Maaden has a lot of birdie opportunities to take advantage of.

“I’m coming from a very mentally challenging week at Q-Series in the U.S. and I would really like to take this week with a different mental approach and have fun with the competition. Staying patient, I believe is key for success at Q-School.”
