For the third week running, Denmark’s Emily Kristine Pedersen has been the top points scorer on the Race to Costa Del Sol, extending her lead further at the top after a magnificent title winning display at the 2020 Tipsport Czech Ladies Open.
Finishing in style with an 80ft eagle putt on the 18th hole, Pedersen has stretched her lead from 75 points to 204 after six events, courtesy of the first-place winners check of €30,000, and doesn’t look like stopping any time soon.
Belgium’s Manon De Roey produced one of the highlights of the season, an extremely rare albatross on the par five 7th hole en-route to a T5 finish. The Belgian rises from fourth to second, pushing Solheim Cup star Azahara Munoz in to third.
Proof that one good week can change a season, Austria’s Christine Wolf finished alone in second at Beroun Golf Club and rises from 99th into the top-10 in 9th position. On a similar trajectory, Sanna Nuutinen is up 26 spots to 7th place, thanks to two closing birdies which saw her snatch third.
Next up on the race is the VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open and with Pedersen teeing it up for her seventh event of the season, she is still the player to catch.
