COFFA SAVOURING OPPORTUNITY AT THE BIG GREEN EGG OPEN

Pasqualle Coffa

Pasqualle Coffa is relishing the chance to play at home as the LET returns to the Netherlands with the Big Green Egg Open.

The Dutch golfer, who didn’t start playing the sport until she was 16, has had a solid start to the season on both the LET and LET Access Series.

Coffa finished T35 at the Investec SA Women’s Open and T68 at the Ladies Italian Open, before recording her best-ever finish on the LET with T12 at the Jabra Ladies Open.

On LETAS, the 24-year-old has also proved to be more consistent with T15 at the Montauban Ladies Open and T19 at the Golf Flanders LETAS Trophy.

With the opportunity to play in her homeland, Coffa wants to share her love of the sport and hopes the tournament will help promote women’s golf.

“I’m really happy and proud that the Netherlands is hosting an LET event again. It is a great opportunity to give women’s golf a boost in our country. It means a lot to me to have the chance to play and share my love for golf,” she said.

“I have started off my season pretty decent. Seeing my swing improving and really getting to understand it made me feel in control and has given me the right energy to gain confidence out of it.”

The Dutch golfer is playing alongside Germany’s Olivia Cowan and England’s Florentyna Parker with the group teeing off at 14.08.

Rosendaelsche, which is a GEO Certified Course, is the venue for this week’s Big Green Egg Open and Coffa has played at the course before.

But despite her good start to the season, she is not putting any expectations on herself this week and wants to just enjoy the week.

She added: “I know the course quite well. I have been here in the past to play a competition against other clubs from the Netherlands. The course is in great shape, and it is a good challenge for us.

“I’m looking forward to an exciting event at Rosendaelsche! Playing some golf at home is always fun. I’m not really hoping or expecting something, I’m just focusing on the process and having fun!”
