CIGANDA FEELING CONFIDENT HEADING INTO MAJOR SEASON

Carlota Ciganda recovered from an opening round of 75 (+3) to record a top-10 finish at last week’s Aramco Championship.

The second PIF Global Series event of the year saw the Ladies European Tour (LET) and LPGA co-sanction the tournament staged at Shadow Creek in Las Vegas.

Eight-time LET winner Ciganda opened with a 75 but followed up with rounds of 72-72-71 over the next three days to finish in T9.

Ciganda always enjoys playing on tough golf courses and Shadow Creek was no exception.

“Overall, I’m pretty happy,” she said. “It’s one of the toughest courses that we play on tour. The conditions are really tough. You have to be very patient and very disciplined with your lines and the way you hit them. I played very good, but the last three days especially I’m very happy about.

With the first major of the season in a few weeks, the Spanish star is excited for the rest of the year.

She continued: “I really enjoy playing the PIF Global Series events, they are very good for women’s golf, and they put on a good tournament. It’s important to have them. I like a challenge, I like it when it’s tough so it’s important to know you can play well on these courses. I’m very excited for Chevron and all the majors in the summer.”

The Chevron Championship, the first major of 2026, gets underway on April 23 at Memorial Park Golf Course. Ciganda’s best result to date at a major is a third place finish at the 2018 U.S. Women’s Open.
